My New Workhorse
If you're in the market for a new guitar, it would be a mistake not to give the Gold Label 710e a try. Was at the shop trying some legendary guitars (J45, SJ, HD28, etc.) and was all over the place with mahogany/rosewood, short/long scale, and just looking for something that inspired me. Saw the Gold Label 710e and almost didn't even pick it up b/c I was just never a big fan of the Taylor unplugged tone. One strum. One big ol' fat G chord. Could feel it in my bones. Have owned it for about 1 month. Beautiful tone and incredible playability. The note separation is great. The action is good. The VTC is OK I guess, but I don't find the tone knob terribly useful. Tuners are probably appropriate for the price point and haven't had any issues with it falling out of tune. I have experienced a slight bit of brace telegraphing below the bridge that's only noticeable in very specific light at very specific angles, but I don't think that's unusual.

Taylor 710 forty years later sweet with Age!
My Dad bought his Taylor 710 in 1986 and the sound 41 years later is amazing. Imagine I walked into Guitar Center in Sarasota, Florida and asked the Luthier there to make an adjustment to the new bridge, which he shaved down a little and he played my Taylor 710 and said it was the nicest sounding guitar that he has ever played there. This man was a Luthier at Gibson Guitars that had worked with Ren Ferguson. There was Martin D4 5TH there and some $12,000 Gibson Acounstic Guitars on the wall. But mine had the best sound. It was bought for $800 in 1986 and he appraised it for $3,900. Every one that has played my Taylor 710 at church has said what a great guitar it is! I can't imagine what the new Taylor 710E sounds like with a Torrified Spruce Top and V Class Bracing. I entered a drawing and hope I win one!

My NEW 710e and PAYTON the Customer Service Rep at GC in NOLA
There is no better guitar. I have been shopping between the Martin D-35, Gibson -45, and the TAYLOR 710e. I walked, really ran out of GC with my Brand New Taylor 710e. This has the best sound that I have ever heard. This Guitar reminded me of my 1975 Martin D-35. The newer D-35's are beautiful and well made but the Tonality and set-up to me is not as good. The Gibson is an amazing guitar too but it doesn't hold a candle to the Taylor. I played a bunch of guitars that were more and less expensive. I was looking for TONE and COST didn't matter. The 710e is a WORKHORSE. Loud, Soft, Strum, Flatpick, Fingerpick this the instrument. Payton at GC in NOLA is 5 STARS too. Everyone go see Payton at GC in NOLA I will be back and I live 60 miles away. Far better than the GC IN BATON ROUGE
