224ce-K DLX, Left-Handed

Players who love the sound and look of Hawaiian koa will appreciate the Taylor 224ce-K DLX, a Grand Auditorium acoustic-electric guitar with a solid koa top and layered koa back and sides. Tonally, expect koa's lustrous midrange and top-end sparkle, plus a dash of warmth in the low end that keeps things remarkably balanced. The slender Taylor neck makes for comfortable fretting, while the Venetian cutaway provides access to the highest frets on the genuine ebony fretboard. Visually, the 224ce-K DLX is appointed to inspire, sporting a full-body gloss finish with a shaded edgeburst that showcases koa's natural coloration. This model ships with ES2 electronics and a deluxe hardshell case.

Features

Grand Auditorium

Our flagship shape offers comfort and cross-genre utility, with a clear, balanced tone suited for both fingerstyle and strumming.

Hawaiian Koa

Vibrant midrange voice with a dash of sparkle in the top end. Beautiful grain and coloration. Grows sweeter and warmer with time and play.

The Taylor Neck

Introduced in 1999, the patented Taylor Neck offers legendary playing comfort, exceptional intonation and easy adjustability.

Hawaiian Koa

As a hardwood, koa produces a focused midrange and features a natural built-in compression that levels out the response. Warmth and overtones emerge over time and play.

Expression System® 2

The Expression System® 2 captures more of a guitar’s dynamic properties using a breakthrough behind-the-saddle design.

Venetian Cutaway

The Venetian cutaway is known for its soft, round lines. The sloping peak of the cutaway will vary depending on the shape of the body.

I just bought this guitar (left-handed) and what a beautiful warm sound. The action is so nice and the neck is really narrow for great playability. Haven't plugged it in yet but acoustically its BEAUTIFUL sounding!!! Looks fantastic!

Beautiful Looking and Sounding Guitar

5 out of 5 stars Glen H.

When I was in the guitar shop looking for a new 6-string acoustic, I kept playing models and I had my heart set on a Taylor. There up on the wall was this beauty and I asked the salesman about it. I just loved the look of the wood. I kept being drawn back to it and finally had to get it down and play it I was struck by the wonderful sound. I knew at that point I was hooked. This guitar just sang to me. I love the look and the sound of the koa wood. To me this is the most beautiful acoustic guitar I've ever seen or heard. Two years later I feel the same as I ddi that fist day!

The love of my life

5 out of 5 stars Leffepunk

This is the first Taylor I fell in love with. At first because it is so beautiful. The Koa is just stunning. But it also sounds awesome and the playability is just great. Actually, I have had more exclusive (read expensive) guitars from Taylor, but this is the love of my life. Maaaaaan, Taylor just make such awesome guitars!!!
Taylor also want me to say a few words of what I dont like about the guitar. I´m sorry, but I cant think of anything. Onceagain...I´m sorry

Guitar to keep foresaking all others.

5 out of 5 stars "Toby" sometimes Texg

I cannot find a single thing wrong with this guitar and I have two other Taylors, a Martin, and 2 Gibsons....several cost twice as much as my 224-KDLX. If I HAD to give up all but one of my guitars the one I would keep would be the 224-KDLX.

Wonderful Instrument

5 out of 5 stars Charles N.

This guitar is marvelously voiced. While they all sound great in all of the YouTube videos that I watched. Mine is voiced differently than most. I purchased the custom version with the natural finish that is sold at Guitar Center. Maybe it's the natural finish of the Koa wood may that have something to do with it. Mine has a deep, rich, soulful voice. It's comfortable singing with Barry White, scatting with George Benson, flowing with Russ Freeman or smiling with Larry Carlton. It's a perfect compliment to my all Koa Kiesel OM7.
