Overview

The first Grand Orchestra guitar to be built with V-Class bracing, the 818e showcases the power and resonance of a jumbo-style body alongside surprising soft-touch sensitivity and articulation. Indian rosewood and Sitka spruce deliver their distinctive combination of warm lows, pristine trebles and lush, blooming overtones, leaving a slight scoop in the midrange that's perfect for playing with other instruments or vocals. With an Antique Blonde top finish treatment, Mission inlays in mother-of-pearl and abalone, and a paua shell single-ring rosette, the 818e sports a vibrant aesthetic that sets it apart from its 800 Series counterparts. It ships with ES2 electronics in a deluxe hardshell case with a Western Floral pattern.

Big!

5 out of 5 stars Lovely

It is beautiful. I got it during Covid .. (safer than a motorbike) and i played it a lot at the time.
After 12 months, I just took it out of its case again - and it’s still beautiful.
If i was going to strum a lot on stage, this might well be my choice; it’s big and truthful.
(And beautiful)

The Taylor 818e is a Gem!

5 out of 5 stars Patrick R.

I purchased the 818e in 2013 first edition. Talk about power and balance which Andy referred to as a guitar that proves that a deep, bold voice can be balanced and responsive. Let me say this guitar is so amazing I cant begin to describe the depth and tone and playability. I researched the competition and very happy I picked the Taylor 818e. Its also a very environmentally friendly guitar as glues and stains go which was another reason for me personally to choose this guitar. 10 years on this guitar is a head turner vocally as well as visually beautiful. I have many guitars but this one just seems to put a smile on everyone's dial!

Fantastic

4 out of 5 stars Jarrett W.

I am enjoying this guitar. Glad I made the purchase. Try it you might like it. I have a dreadnought that is my essential reference. Having tried several “jumbos”; the Taylor comes the closest to exceeding the dread’s tone and sustain. It definitely has it on volume, and intonation. I would give it 5 stars except for a single string dead fret. Only one note.

Response from Taylor Guitars, Glen W.

Sorry to hear about the dead fret on one note. It might be a bad or kinked string, if replacing that string doesn't fix it, please reply to our email we'll help to get it serviced.

Thanks for helping me get the under saddle pickup replaced at Lamb's music in Fortworth under Taylor warranty. Taylor made that very easy for me and it's appreciated.
It's a beautiful guitar, very well made with high quality materials and attention to details, and sounds great.

Another great guitar from Taylor

5 out of 5 stars Richard V.

I love the full sound of the jumbo body of this guitar. The spruce/rosewood combination give the guitar that low end punch with the high end crispness. The 818 is a fantastic instrument!

A great supporter for an accoustic guitar group and a valliant songwriters instrument

5 out of 5 stars GIWRGOS S.

Having previously bought a perfectly ballanced instrument (your 816ce builders edition) and being mostly a strummer, the 818e satisfied me completely for its bass and volume .I do not need to ''hammmer'' on it to produce a big sound with sustain. Not at the expence of the miiddle range and the high !!
An alternative/ or complement to the 816ce .A perfect jumbo shape, nothing exaggerated in this big guitar suited for many guitar styles .
