The Sitka spruce /walnut tonewood pairing traces back to Bob Taylor’s earliest guitars, many of which were crafted in the humble workshop that gave the American Dream Series its name. That combination yields a warm, woody midrange response with clear projection and articulation, enhanced with improved volume and sustain thanks to the V-Class bracing inside. Following the distilled, neo-vintage design ethos of its American Dream counterparts, this limited-edition model features chamfered body edges, clean Italian acrylic dot inlays, a firestripe pickguard and a thin matte finish with a hand-sprayed tobacco sunburst top treatment. This highly versatile Grand Auditorium includes a commemorative interior label and ES2 electronics. It ships with a lightweight, yet super-durable AeroCase.

This model features chamfered edges, it does not have binding. The trim you see around the edge is the natural color of the spruce top.

Did Taylor change from a regular spruce top to torrefied on the 50th anniversary model? Some websites like Sweetwater don’t mention this in their description. Thanks!
The 50th Anniversary model has always had a Torrefied top. The non 50th version of the model does not have a Torrefied top.

Is the sunburst a sticker like the gs mini?
The sunburst on the AD14ce is hand-sprayed in our US factory. As an additional note, we do not use stickers for any of our finishes.

Warm & Woody
Lovely to behold and lovely to play. The walnut is fairly uncommon making this guitar a bit unique . The sound is warm and woody. The sunburst top. Looks great !

Incredible sound, and sustain for a guitar in this price range!
I bought this a less expensive, second guitar, and WOW!!!! This sounds incredible! The neck took a little getting use to, it’s not the same as my “Catch” guitar. But a few chords later, this is amazing. The walnut and roasted spruce combination sounds epic!

The Bookend American Dream
This guitar has it all. Projection, balance, articulation...Every note rings true, strumming or finger picking, all positions up the neck. The walnut provides a warm, even tone up and down the register with balanced highs, middles and lows. The tuners are precise and smooth and the matte finish is really nice.
I have 4 Taylors spanning 50 years of the development of the Taylor line and this guitar is my favorite.

True American Dream
I just got mine thru Sweetwater. Been anxious to get another guitar with walnut back and sides and this one is sounding better and better the more I play it! Great choice of tonewood for this model!
